Hiking -$110 per person
Day-hikes to spectacular points of interest & beauty. Guides will provide you with interesting knowledge while you experience nature, from the sublime to the intense (and everything in between!). Within Shenandoah National Park, there is a multitude of trails off the main road & footpath (almost 400 miles worth!) that are rarely explored by the visiting guest(s). Each hike will be to a destination area that is significant because of its natural beauty and/or cultural significations. Waterfall, mountain summits, abandoned communities.
Our popular Waterfalls & Wildflowers hikes featured hiking in the two environments for which Shenandoah National Park is famous: her waterfalls & her wildflowers.
For all our hikes, a camera is highly recommended! Supportive hiking shoes encouraged. We can provided daypacks, trekking poles & water.
*Please Note: Hikes will be selected with the season & weather conditions in mind.
Rock Climbing -$130 per person
Get that "aired-out" feeling while climbing almost 3,000 ft. above the Shenandoah Valley floor! This is an unforgettable experience that will make your trip to the Shenandoah region complete. We meet in the morning for a day of adventure for both young & you at heart!
All necessary personal safety gear + climbing shoes is provided. This is an introductory-intermediate level . climbing program.
The climbing programs are not extraordinarily physically demanding (for a person of average fitness), but they can be psychologically challenging.
All participants should bring a camera for this exciting day! Our climbing program is oldest & most established climbing program in Shenandoah (& one of the most respected in the country!). Our numerous local crags ensure that our guests are challenged & learn at all levels.
Cascading - $160 per person
It's hard to beat rappelling down through the spray of an icy waterfall on a hot summer day...only to land to a plunge pool of crystal clear (but still icy cold) water & then keep on moving downstream just to do it all over again! Join our guides late May-September on one of the several nearby canyons in whose waterfall routes we have pioneered.
Group Size Limit: 6
Long before this sport had a name, the staff of Shenandoah Mountain Guides would spend hours exploring the streams that tumbled off the steeps & out of the canyons of our mountains. Rappelling, jumping, sliding, swimming & splashing! The best way in the world to cool off on a hot summer day...Now it's one of the HOTTEST adventure sports in the world!
Come see why Southern Living Magazine selected us & this adventure as the BEST SUMMER ADVENTURE IN THE SOUTH!
Basic Outdoor Skills -$150 per person
This is a course for all outdoor enthusiasts who want to learn to travel more confidently into the woods. This class focuses on the key elements to not simply surviving, but thriving when outdoor adventures turn into challenges. You'll know what to do when the "what ifs" turn into the "now whats."
